Day 28, no internal pips yet? Ducks

Hello again! 4 eggs are now pipped. No changes though on the others. The egg that first pipped is rocking a bit! Hopefully I'll have a duckling by tomorrow! fingers crossed!

We have a baby! Watched him come out of the shell and everything! He is stomping around crying and chomping hitting his beak at the other eggs.. is that okay???? He is not resting, just trying to get out? When is it safe to remove him??

Is it possible he could cause damage to other eggs?

And can I take the egg out or leave it be? Just want him to be comfy in there and the empty egg kinda gross lol
Best to leave incubator closed so you don'r lose humidity and have shrink wrapping from membranes drying out.. I know, they are gross but that's birth for ya!

Congrats on your first duckling hatch!
Pretty soon they'll be poppin'!

2 babies now! One egg has a big hole and he's trying hard to finish zipping for an hour now, should I help or leave him be?

And one has pipped at wrong end.. I can see him breathing in the hole.

Good news is it will probably be able to hatch on its own :) Bad news is it's gonna take a long time from the pip to when it starts to zip, maybe even up to 48 hours, because it didn't get the normal resting time in the air cell. Its external pip is what would have been its internal pip if it was positioned correctly. So, that one has probably quite some time yet until it hatches.
