Day 29 Duck Eggs - Help!

He keeps opening and closing his bill without making a noise - like he's trying to stretch the membrane. Is that good?

It looks like the top of his bill. It also looks like he has absorbed all the veins the inner membrane. Which means he probably absorbed the yolk and he is ready to come out. if he doesn't hatch within an hour or two, its time to help.

I just chipped a little more shell off and there's a small amount of blood. I put him straight back in the incubator. Is this really bad?

I am thinking that as he pipped underneath, and the air cell was right on top, that he pipped straight through the membrane and not into the air cell. What do I do? :(

also, you may want to move the incubator to a room that has a shower. Turn the shower on full heat to make the room nice and steamy to make up for the humidity loss from opening the incubator. make sure the other eggs don't get cold.

He can breathe now so leave him alone for a time, you don't want more bleeding. and yes read the link iluv posted.

The opening/closing the beak thing is the exact same thing mine did. He was trying to come out the side of the shell and that was his way of trying to get the shell open. (err, that was how I appeared anyway)
