So... We made the decision to completely leave them to it, went out for dinner, ignored them completely... And then he was squawking his little head off! So we dug him out on a wet tea towel and chipped away until his head popped out, when we noticed that he was covered in gluey membrane and couldn't unfold. The rest had shrink wrapped, so we tweezered him out and he was absolutely loving it! All veins and yolk completely absorbed, he's lying very weak and tired in the bator now. Trying not to get my hopes up too much... How long do I need to leave him in the bator? How long before he *should* be up and doing?
Thank you so much for all your guidance! I feel like I can rest easy knowing I've done everything I could. He'd have died in that egg and if he dies now... Well at least I gave him the best possible chance!
At peace!
Didn't think I'd wake up to this!
The one we hatched has got curled up/in feet, are they likely to straighten out? I assume cause he was in the egg too long. The other little guy did it all himself!
