day 3 after hatch day and only 2 babies!!!!!!

I don't know what happened!!!!! Out of 19 maran eggs only two hatched! They didn't have any issues hatching they are happy and healthy little ones. Thursday was hatch day and no signs of life from the other eggs!! I had to take the other 2 out b/c they needed food and water by day 3. no rolling eggs, no cheeps, no pips, NOTHING!!!! has anyone ever had such a bad hatch!!!??? I may open them Monday to see if I can tell what went wrong .... even worse these eggs where for our 4h group to share once the chicks hatched!

well they where incubated for a couple of days before my sons 4h leader brought them to me. She brought them in an insulated container with heat packs to keep them warm. She was really careful and we only live about 15 min. from each other.

I always have bad luck with marans they are hard for some to hatch, others will say they have no problem. I just wonder if they had problems when they first started hatching marans. I've done 3 marans hatches 12 shipped got 1 roo. 18 bought from a lady at marans of USA table at Nationals in Columbus, hatched 2 one lived. 6 cuckoo marans got 2 babies, I guess I'm getting better. I see I have some coming tommoroe only 3 golden cuckoos and some other eggs I quess we'll see in about 21 days from tommoroe

I just found out the eggs where shipped so that may have been the problem, and I have been told that marans are hard to hatch. So I guess at least we got 2!
