I set 14 Muscovy eggs, 4 were early quitters and I thought I would candle again on lockdown. Well DH comes and gets me out of bed this AM, he wouldn't tell me why, so I followed him over to the incubator and there, in the egg turner was a duckling (fortunately just fine). What do I do now? Do I go in lockdown? Do I hand turn for another day or two? Could it even be a Muscovy?!

I took the turner out and when I laid the eggs flat some of them quickly turned on their own, many of them have some misshapen air sack, so of course now I'm worried that I've traumatized the ducklings developing inside and also worried because they will only sit one way. should I cut down an egg carton so that I can turn them, or leave them be?

They are turning themself to sit the right way up for the duckling in the egg. Heavier one way due to the ducklings being nearly ready to hatch. Could they possibly be cross breeds?? If only one of the parents was a muscovy that could explain the early hatching.

I can't be 100% sure they are pure, they were shipped. So with the heavier side down now should I leave them be?
