What shall I do??? We're new to incubating/hatching. We're currently on our second batch of ducklings. The first 13 were incubated by broodie chickens and the other 8 by the incubator, along with 4 ducklings momma hid from me and hatched herself... The first time, our incubated and Broodie hen batch all hatched around 23-25 days, that was a pain. A lot of babies needed help hatching and 3 of them still had the umbilical cord attached (all three survived, with my motherly help.) ANYHOW, this group we have now, there are 27 eggs. ALL were under hens until day 30, none have hatched. We like to move them to the incubator so ants and bugs, and or snakes don't bother them and we can find them sooner. Well, we're now on day 32, a big majority of the eggs are dancing around, wiggling and pretty active when I check on them. My concern is, when is it too long? Do I just leave them alone?? From my understanding the incubation process is typically 28 days so I'm assuming day 32 may be ok?? thank you in advance!!

I found this and it help me stage my eggs just know if most of the egg is above the water it a dead egg. The water has to be warm too.

Good luck

Thank you!! They're all hatching like crazy today, I may have been off on my dates?? That's a really neat trick, I'll have to look into doing that next time
