Got home at about 4:15, alarm going off on incubator! Was 84 degrees! Think all is ok yet? Thinking it was off for 8 hours!

Candled some of them and there's movement! All the red veins are still red! That's got to be good! Thanks Amy!Chances are they'll be ok, or a good share will. It's possible the power loss could cause a slight delay, but 8 hours isn't too terribly bad. Get them back up to temp and tomorrow do a candle and see where they are at. I'll cross my fingers for you.![]()
At day 21 they are producing their own body heat, so it's not as detrimental for hatch, it'd be the fact that they come out wet and w/o heat to warm them they could get chilled quicker. Personally if that happens I'd consider going to the drug store and get a couple packs of the thermal care heat patches (for pain-with no added medicine in it) and try those in the bator to give off heat. It's on my list of things to try if I loose electricity with incubation or brooding. And if that happens you have to let me know the results. (Wether it works or not.)Pouring rain here and thunder. I'm in the midst of a large hatch. It's midnight so just started Day 21. I have lots of chicks and pips.
I fear the power might go out! If it does I will heap the Styrofoam Hovabator incubator with blankets but I'm not sure how long they could go for. Anyone know?
That's awesome...now two more weeks to go!!!Candled some of them and there's movement! All the red veins are still red! That's got to be good! Thanks Amy!
That's great!!It's hatch night the way it's looking, 6 or 7 pipping and one zipping! After all they went through! Awesome!!! Thanks for the info BYC people!
