Day at the chicken spa idea!

They use those at the place I take my dog for baths. They call it the crate dryer. She is half chow and takes forever to dry plus she gets really stressed out during this time so they just let her stay in the crate to dry off.

I'll have to see what I can do.
we have cochins, and even though they are not pets to us, the poor things are such a disastor after the winter.
Their feathered feet especially.
And blow drying a cochin takes alot of time!!!

Ok I was raised around chickens and now I am raising my very own flock and I have never ever had to give a chicken a bath. WHY would you have to bathe a chicken??

We live in Alaska. We have Cochins.
We also practice deep litter in the coop, so as to help with warmth during our long cold winters.
None of our other breeds will need a bath, but our cochins are filthy!!

Even though we layer plenty of fresh straw down, they still like to dig and roll around.
I started with a mucky brownish hen and ended with a fluffy white hen.

For those that show chickens, baths are the norm as well.
Ours are purely for sustainable living, but, we treat them well, making sure they are as healthy as possible.
