Day light savings Rant

well, winter time is the standard time, and last night I changed my clocks the the daylight savings time (here we start a week earlier and end a week later)

the farmer's children were up doining chores an hour before school because of the daylight. (obviously I come from that stock)

I vote we just leave it on daylight's saving time and leave it there. Here in Maine, it gets dark out so early in the winter. The sun sets around 4 pm in December. Last week, twilight was around 5:45, and now, of course it is an hour later. A very cherished hour later! This allows for so much extra outside time!

It makes no sense here. Instead, we have our house lights and heaters blasting longer in the winter, and same with the a/c in the summer. I'd vote to eradicate it. If school is such a big issue, use the saved money on buses instead of making the kids walk or pay like they do in our area for buses. OR - move back the start of school one hour.
