Day-old Chick not Standing

Oh they are so lovely, you have done so well.
Thanks so much for your kind words! Yes you're the 3rd person that's guessed that the 2 are cockerels! :D

I think i see at least a couple of cockerels maybe in the first pic, the 2 darker brown ones.

I'm waiting another couple more weeks to see how the other three develop to confirm.

My little one is now 11 weeks and started his first crows last week, very cute.
Lovely! Can't wait for my little fluffies to do their chickadeedoos too!

Good luck as they grow up.
Thank you! I'm putting another dozen into the oven this coming weekend. It's a legacy to my teddybear Roo who died a couple weeks ago by a suspected dog attack.I miss him so much and it's nice to see his physical traits appearing in at least 3 of my chicks.

I'm sorry about your roo, it's horrible when you lose them, we had to put our roo to sleep this week due to heart failure so I know how you feel.
Just hoping this little one is as nice as he was when he grows up, so far hes very timid of the girls but I'm sure that will change.
Good luck with your next hatch.

Thanks! I just put them in the oven. I'm hoping they'll be ok as this was kind of an emergency collection due to the sudden death of Mr Mullet. I've checked for fertility daily and stopped collecting 12 days after his death as they were infertile by then. Sorry to hear about your roo too. :(

I'm hoping my chick roos grow up as well-mannered as Mr Mullet was too! Would love to hear how your roo goes! I'm hoping to introduce my chicks to the adult hens in about a couple of week's time. I'm letting them grow up a bit bigger as one of my hen's a nasty bum nipper.

Good luck with the eggs, I really hope you get some babies.
We put our little one out with the older girls the past few days, so far he wont come out from behind the cabin and the silkies are chasing him around!!
Hopefully he will find his feet soon, I'm hoping for a nice mannered boy too, we had an amazing roo for 10 years then the next 2 one was disabled but very sweet and the other was quite nasty but ruled the roost.
I will keep my fingers crossed for both of us.
