Just hatched Marans x Easter egger eggs (golden cuckoo and blue cuckoo moms, Easter egger dad) and wondering if the head spot autosexing will still apply? Here are the 5. I think I have 3 girls and two boys. Ideas?
This one (Tormund) I think boy-huge white splash. Golden cuckoo (I think...might be a blue, their eggs look very similar). Light legs (yellow even, from dad)

Also boy (Rubeus- blue cuckoo). Light legs.

Girl? Mocha (golden cuckoo, looks just like her mom as a chick), the head spot has two “segments”...but is still defined. Dark legs.

Girl. Espresso - smallest head dot of all of them. Dark dark legs. (Blue)

No head spot on this one, all dark brown except white breast. Dark streaks on legs (Bill, golden cuckoo). Guessing girl but ?? Looks different from others, maybe takes more after Easter egger dad.

I know these are not true bred but mom would have passed the barring gene to the ones with head spots, right? Bill is the one I’m really unsure of.

It was really fun to see what these crosses would look like! Excited to see their adult coloring.

I kinda doubt it will work with Easter Egger in the mix. Its hard telling what genes he is carrying. Do you have a picture of your Easter Egger male?

Is the rooster barred/cuckoo?
If not any with head spots are male. The one without is female.
If he is barred I'd have to assume he is single factor barred since you have one chick without head spot. If that's the case any without head spot is female. Any with head spots would be a toss up.

The rooster is not barred. Here he is. We think there is some brown leghorn in there. He hatched from a blue egg but I know that doesn’t mean he has blue egg genes. E85FF5EF-6369-4C3E-AAD9-F559DF1AA528.jpeg

If your EE roo is solid dark colors, it should work!

But you've got your white spot mixed up (er I got my sentences mixed up when reading )... those are the boys with white spots on their heads. :pop

I must be confused. The Marans moms had white solid circle head spots as chicks. I thought it wasn’t the existence of the spot, but its size/definition for Marans.
