Apparently it is possible to sex day old Partridge Penedesencas; can someone who knows how to do this please tell me what we have here - they all look identical to me!

thank you so much for replying; my luck must really be in if I've got 5 girls out of 6 eggs!I have a 4 week old pullet that looked like yours when she was a little thing. I would say all pullets, with a possible exception on the chick that is top right. It could be the angle and lighting, but it looks a bit lighter in color than the others
ChickenCanoe, who's been breeding Black Penedesencas for decades and seems to know more this rare breed than anyone else, said so in one of his threads, I think. Are you sure you're not thinking of crele Penedesencas? I've never heard of the partridge variety being sexable at birth, but I know the creles are.
That's the person to contact, if possible. I would send an email and ask if she or he would be willing to help.ChickenCanoe, who's been breeding Black Penedesencas for decades and seems to know more this rare breed than anyone else, said so in one of his threads, I think.

Your chicks all look pretty similar to me, but there may be some trick to it that I just don't know about.
I guess I'll have to wait and see, because I can't distinguish between them; 4 pullets would be nice!Based on what chickencanoe said, I would guess 4 pullets and 2 cockerels. What did you decide OP?
