Hello,
A few days ago I had a chick that got somehow stuck in the chick feeder and couldn't get out as it gorged on feed and the crop swole up! I tried baking soda water and oil to help move the feed along, but it only emptied slightly. Today I noticed that the crop busted open on the side, the skin was very thin. Since it already opened on it's own, I emptied the whole crop of the mushy feed and cleaned it out with zinc wound wash. I then sprayed it down with vetericyn. I dabbed it dry and superglued it shut. I then applied iodine. The chick acts ok. I cannot get sutures. Will the superglue come undone? What can I do if that happens? I will not let it eat, I will carefully give it a water/ high calorie nutritional paste until the crop stays closed on its own. I am so scared it'll pop back open. What can I do? TIA!
