Thanks everyone. i got an alert from @Miss Lydia as iam writing this

Just got home. shes dead. Halfway through the duck house door. sprawled out. Hot and covered in flys

It was brutal hot today

albert is doing better than ive ever seen in awhile. Hes preening for the first time and lifting his head feathers at me

Iam going to take back my bag of feed and tell the store and get a new kind. Since two died on it

Ive been cutting it alot with corn to get her to eat more and now berts feeling better so mabye the feed was botched

So very sorry about this . Hey what about your buddy that got a duck at the same time you got the Cayuga. Are his birds healthy didn’t you say he lives close by? But as heartbreaking this is I am so happy To hear Bert’s doing so much better.I think you might want to clean out their house get rid of everything in there and disinfect with something safe to use around birds.

Yep and a deep cleaning and iam moving the run,

His cayuga is fine but he used the local stores "layer" higher calcium and i was feeding grower

I love bert hes such a funny bird. All he wants is food, Corn and a neck rub haha

I find duck food smells awefull anyway but it smelled normal but has way more fines in it like the back was shook for awhile

Like they eat the pellets and half of it is powder.


Actualy i just clued in that i feed it to my 5 chickens too and their fine. Duh

Yeah 5 barred rock. 3 roosters (DAMN!) and 2 hens. Their 3 months old or so. Their fun to watch the roosters jump at each other and hens run around like nuts. And their colors are striking
