Night came back with the fish, then dropped it next to Sirius, then laying down in the shallow water

Comet sighed, waiting for Sirius to return. Gradually, he realized she probably never would. He walked over to the stream and sat there, staring at his reflection. A single tear fell with a plop, causing the image to blend together, no longer distinct. I'm just like that, Comet thought. I really am alone. Really am nothing.

Storm slunk back into camp, carrying another rabbit he had caught for himself. He slipped under his usual bush, and dug into the warm meat.
