Comet was walking through the tree when he stumbled upon a wolf that was sobbing into the ground. "Uh...are you okay?" He asked, concerned

Comet was walking through the tree when he stumbled upon a wolf that was sobbing into the ground. "Uh...are you okay?" He asked, concerned

Lavender glanced up at him, before struggling to her feet. ‘ Who are you?’ She muttered, carefully trying to take a step. Spoiler, she failed.

 

[Starburst]

"I'm Comet. Are you okay?" Comet repeated.

Lavender did her best not to acknowledge the wolf, and stood back up. The fur on her cheeks was wet with tears, and her paw felt like it had been burned.

"I'll take that as a no. What happened?" Comet asked. He was getting more concerned by the second

Lavender shook herself and started to feebly limp into the forest, towards where she had last heard Cedar. She had to find him if he was still alive, and if he was dead she had to provide him with a proper burial. She couldn’t just let that pup, who had so much life and curiosity in him, be eaten by some lousy scavengers. He didn’t deserve that.

 

[Starburst]

Not knowing what else to do, Comet followed the wolf.

Lavender continued to limp through the trees, almost collapsing more than once. She had to find Cedar, no matter if he was dead or alive.

Cedar only remembered this. A flash of teeth and claws, unbelievable pain searing through his body, and then darkness. He didn't know if he was going to die or not. And he felt sadness. Why hadn't he listened to Lavender? Or Zelda when she was alive? Why hadn't Lavender come? Why did cougars kill baby pups? He didn't know. And, most likely, he never would.

Lavender saw a cougar carrying what looked like, Cedar? She ran over to it, the adrenaline causing her to forget about her back paw. A growl escaped her lips.
