Yesterday i found my favorite hen lying dead on the floor. looks like she was either too cold cause it was winter or she ate some foam that was left on the ground from putting the insillaton in the coop. Earlier this month we had a hen put down from a prelapse. they were only 5 months we have 4 left rip niggy and harriet

I am so sorry for your loss . I don't think eating foam would kill a chicken though. They always eat weird things (mine ate some of a cardboard box yesterday) and that usually causes an impacted crop. But not an immediate death. And a chicken would have to be in freezing weather with no shelter to die from the cold. How cold is the weather wear you live? I think their might be another explanation for why she passed away.
