Help, I recieved 16 baby chicks in the mail 5 days ago. All were fine upon arrival. I put them in the brooder pen with a willing new mother hen and she accepted them right away. Each morning for the last 4 days I have found 1 dead chick on the floor. I did spread some DE on the floor before they arrived--did I poison them? I just took everyone out, shopvaced the entire coop, changed food and water and put them back in. What else can I do. please help, it it too late for the rest of the babies? I was food grade DE
