If I put tap water in a gallon water jug and leave it with the cap off, will the chlorine evaporate enough to be able to use it for FFing? I've been buying spring water, but this is going to start to add up.....I'm just unsure that the small opening in a 1-gallon water jug will allow for complete chlorine evaporation in 24 hours.

Anyone know?

It should be fine - I do something similar for fermented beverages and the water dechlorinates sufficiently to ensure that the microbes proliferate as desired.

I saw that article.....I checked my water authority's website and the report mentioned chlorine as a disinfectant but I didn't see chloramine anywhere

I agree with LG....
