DE (food grade?) good or bad

When you treated your birds for external parasites with DE, 4 out of 6 times successful treatments wiping them out isnt very successful. If anything, it will be an ongoing problem for you and your birds. I suggest you find an alternative treatment to treat your birds and coops.

I just started using DE in my coops. We spread it in the coop all over the floor and mix it in the dust baths for the chickens but we only put it down when they are out of the coop, bc I researched and read the dust it creates and it does create alot bc it's so fine,is not good for the chickens to breathe in while airborne. I didn't put it in their nests, but might try that too, but just a light dusting. I also put it in both my senior and junior quail dust baths. My dust baths consist of mostly peat moss (non fertilized only), some play sand & the DE. All The birds go crazy for these baths.And around here we love happy birds FYI if you have sensitivity to any kinds of dust, personally if you spread this DE around in your coop in large areas, I'd suggest you also wear a dust mask as it will go up your nose, and you will be breathing it into your own lungs. I didn't do this the first time and was sick that night, so I think it was from breathing that into my own body. I'm no doctor so no proof of that but will rule on the side of caution next time

DE made you sick? And it didnt make your birds sick when they down on the ground rolling around in it? Somethings not right here.

Do you really say that all the product that you recommend works in 100% efficiency in 100% of the cases? They really can overcome the natural resistant of the pathogens in 100% of the time? I daubed it.

It is unrealistic to expect that any drug will work 100%! There is no such a drug! Any drug have its "life Expectancy״ until the pathogen will be Resistant to it! All pathogens have random changes in there DNA du to mutation or recombination in Sexual reproduction. This changes will eventually turn the pathogen resistant to the drug. In this situation the use of the drug will select the resistant pathogen from the sensitive one(= they simply will die!) and this resistant pathogen will be the Founding Fathers of a 100% resistant population. So the question is not if the drug will loose it efficiency, but When it will loose it! The answer is in proportion to the The prevalence of drug use , frequent use shortens the time its effective, Rare use of the drug and the effective time of it will lengthen! You must remember that no drug is forever!
