DE & roundworms?

I don't think anyone is suggesting DE is a complete preventative or cure, inside or out! The dried organisms are meant to be aid keeping worms or eggs from becoming an infestation.

As far as not working when wet ... DE is used in pool and aquarium filters very effectively.

Pool DE- That's a different type, not to be eaten. DE is great for drying out a wet or damp coop, or keeping feed dry...that's it.

I'm just amazed! I thought that DE was the end all, be all thing to do around here

Glad to know it though since I was about to fork over the bucks. So you don't think it helps even with the litter in the coop? It's so humid here in WV all year round that I have been sprinkling it in the coop litter.
Thanks!

The poster who lost a bird to lice/mites despite using it daily kinda says it all. I've had some since I used to garden organically. Want mine?

I bought 50lbs. of food grade and it was like 27.00 but after shipping it was like I think close to 70.00 and it does help some with wetness in the bedding but I think that stuff I bought at TRS was better it starts out like sweet something sorry can't remember, ya'll with horses would know.

If a person is losing birds to mites/lice they are waiting too long to use anything but chemicals. Many posters mix DE in dusting areas and as someone else said taking fecal samples is the best way to monitor a flock for worms.
