I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. Can you use DE in the veggie garden and what are some benifits from it. Do you use it in the garden, and will it still be effective when wet????.

I have a 50lb bag that I use in the chicken coop/runs, I just wanted to use some in the garden and thought it may help.

I'll tell you in a couple of months.

Each week we sweep and mop the coop.

Then I put down DE on the linoleum followed by pine chips.

That mixes with the poop/feathers/wasted feed and then this past winter I composted all of this mixture.

I've got tomatoes, peppers, beans, corn and squash planted and it's coming up gang busters.

What is your ratio in the garden and do you just top dress or till in or both, do you worry about it being to hot of a fertilizer??. I guess the DE will still be in the composted material so I guess that is what your thinking.
