De-worming and Wazine Concern

Give each chick 1/2cc Valbazen orally, use a syringe without needle to administer it and repeat in 10 days.

The chicks are only 6 weeks old, I think 1/2 ml might be too much.

@Malpal55, do you have a scale you can weigh them on?

My question is, Why can we use it on feed hogs (per the instructions) but not egg laying hens? You eat the meat of the hog just like you eat an egg.

I went to the feed store today, and was told there is no longer a deworming medicine for poultry. What are the instructions, ie medicine and dosage to worm the chickens twice yearly?

As it's not marked for poultry, yes - we use the standard 14 days.

i prefer ivomec powder for swine. it is used in their food and very effective for poultry.i also use wazine and it is effective as well. ive used d.e. for years too and its great. i have had one instance of worms a few years back during an unusually wet time and using those in a regularly scheduled worming cycle has kept my flock worm and worry free.
