I was looking around on amazon and for a de-wormer all I could find was Ivermectin, but it says its a 'pour on' and used for mites. What should I be using as a de-wormer for my chickens?

also, I think I've read that I shouldn't eat the eggs while they've been medicated... how long shouldn't I eat their eggs?

I just found Durvet Strike III and it says you don't have to withhold eggs.

do you have to wear a mask when you mix it? I have asthma and I don't have an industrial grade mask, if that's necessary.
I've read a lot about how bad DE is for the lungs, since its a powdered silicate.

I have used both Diatamaceous Earth and Strike III before. Both worked great for me, but Strike III had faster results. It is medicated and more expensive per pound, so if you don't want to go the medicated route I would suggest DE.

In both cased you can eat the eggs.

I don't but I only put a small amount in their feed. I've heard that you shouldn't inhale the dust and may want to use a regular dust mask just to be safe.

If you are mixing a large amount I would wear a mask. Yes, you shouldn't inhale the dust. However, in my experience, I haven't much issue with the dust unless I am using a large amount or clapping to get it off my hands

You can use a horse ivermectin paste. Just have to calculate the dosage. I usually end up with a pea sized dose on a piece of bread. Will cost $3-12 at the feed store.
