de-worming young birds - when is it safe?

thanks again, Dawg53. I appreciate your advice. I realize that I was misunderstanding the site that said to treat for 7 days. It said "length of treatment is 7-10 days" but they meant "treat, then repeat in 7 to 10 days", which makes up the length of treatment. And as to following the poultry vet's advice, I'm leery of that as I can't find anything to corroborate that, to treat for 5-7 days. He had also given me advise about amprol treatment that was way out of line compared with anything I had read anywhere else, and believe me, I do the research quite thoroughly.

I think I'm also now understanding that other piece of advice better from that website I had included in my earlier post, where there was a one or a three day option. That is based on either giving them the full dose in their feed on day one, and not giving any other feed until they've eaten the feed, or doing a three day free feed option. I prefer your method, as it's controlled by size of bird. I've done a more detailed search on this forum again, and see more of your posts. I see that you are basing your dosage on 100mg/ml, which is the one piece I needed to know yet. That's the strength of the liquid formula that I have, so a 10% strength. I will give as per your advice, and thanks again, very much!!
