Dead Baby Chicks

I just found 5 of my week old chicks dead! No reason for it they kind of looked chewed up could a mouse do that??

I've heard that rats may bite/attack baby chicks. Since they don't normally feed on baby chicks, so that's why they end up looking like they have wounds of something biting/chewing on them but still pretty much intact.

Is that something similar to what might be described by the chick wounds?
