Dead chick with scabby sore?

@KLIL it's good that you separated the one that is not doing well. When you have time, photos could be helpful.
Is the chick pooping o.k.?

This is like not even 5 mins after I cleaned it. Its going to the toilet ok. But it won't get up to go to the toilet.
I have cleaned it twice and put betadine on it.

That's called pasty butt. Have you dealt with it before?

Gently clean it with warm water do not pull it off dry. Usually pasty butt is caused by shipping or temperature stress.

Are the chicks seeming too cold or too warm in the brooder?

Personally I wouldn't separate it for pasty butt.

However I'm concerned about the color of the chick's abdomine under the fluff and skin. Anyone else think that looks like an infected yolk sac?

We all think thats what the other 2 died from Infected yolk sac then the breeder replaced them and now 1 has this issue.

I haven't dealt with it before but I have cleaned it as an article directed and I put it away from the other so they dont catch it if its contagious and so the other chicks dont peck at it and make it worse.

If its the same as the yolk sac infection. Is it going to die too???

I dont think ill be getting chicks again well specially not from that breeder.

Thanks babe. Im not convinced he will. Every time he goes to the toilet he makes a distracted sound so his just stopped eating.

Oh no Have you considered coccidosis? Can you get the meds in Oz? Just thinking if it keeps doing runny poos it could be that and it is just making the butt messy rather than pasty butt?

Im going to try get to the feed store tomorrow and see what they have. I work full time. But ill try my best to get there.

Yeah it’s safe. The vegetable or olive oil will keep the poo from sticking
