Dead chicken and water looks weird

In the beginning, when I first began keeping chickens, I gave my chickens grass clippings. I quickly saw that I'd made a big mistake. They went totally piggy over them, and I had a few with over filled, clogged crops. Luckily, some simple crop treatments cleared them, but I could have easily lost a few.

Grass clipping are especially dangerous for young chicks. I've learned not to tempt fate and don't let my chickens have any. They are still permitted to graze on tender green grass which they seem to be able to moderate their consumption and not get into trouble as it takes much more time and effort to eat than a huge pile of cuttings.
