Dead chicks!

Last year I ordered 15 Spitzhauben pullets around the end of Feb and it was COLD! All of them made it tho! I think it all boils down the transits and the exposure of the weather and elements. Its a gamble all of us take.

Oh, how sad! I'm so sorry that happened to you. I had 25 chicks ship from Ideal on 1/8 and only 1 of them was dead. I had another order from Ideal on 1/28, 20 chicks, and all survived. It was 20 degrees outside so I was very relieved and suprised that they all had made it.

There is nothing so sad as receiving a box of chicks & not hearing that peep when you get near the box. Place your order but dont let the chicks go through that cold shipping process. Have them shipped when it is appropriate for your area. McMurray should be able to give you a better date for your zoning

That is the saddest thing. I'm so sorry your first chick order ended that way. I hope you have the best of luck with your replacement order.

Hi! I'm so sorry to hear about your chicks. It's been in the teens at night here and miserable cold still during the day for the last week in this part of SC and your chicks probably just got too cold.
