I'm at a complete loss for one of my hens today. Perfectly healthy beautiful girl and happened to be my favorite... yesterday she was fine and active and sweet as ever, this morning when I went to let them out I noticed she was laying down (I thought she was laying her first egg) but I noticed she had extremely green and runny poo (which I've read is a indication of so many things like starving (I've watched her eat everyday twice a day) and she has been drinking.)

Anyway... about 20 minutes ago I heard her screaming in our sunroom, when I went to see what was happening I knew immediately she was dying. She started to clap around and just scream and finally after two episodes she passed... has anyone had this problem or perhaps any insight in what might have happened?? I just am scared this could possibly infect my whole flock since there were absolutely NO warning signs.

Hi and welcome to BYC :frowalthough I wish under better circumstances. You're best bet is to post on the emergencies forum as most of our really experienced first aid folks troll that area. I'm hoping this is just an isolated incident:fl and so sorry for your loss:hugs
