Its really sad when one of our belived dcks dies. I cry when I read of others' losses and was devastated when my son lost our sweet muscovy female to a predator. With a sudden death, there is nothing you could have done to prevent it. Dont blame yourself and do recognize that your poor girl didnt suffer a lingering death. Better to go suddenly in the warmth than get an i fection or pther illnes, or to be gotten by a predator

I am so very sorry that you lost Mellie; she was a pretty little girl.

Last winter, two of my original runner ducks died suddenly and without any visible cause. Sometimes, we just don't know what happened.

Crying just means your Mellie lived a life well loved, no reason to be ashamed.
