Oh Goat Im so sorry! what a terrible thing to have to deal with. Do not blame your self-it does not help one bit-if anything it should make you stronger and wiser. Do not feel bad about locking up your babies to not free range. Do what you need to do to make a bigger area and brarrier for them and then they will be happy again-in the mean time you love them and they love you and you are only doing whats best for them! Again hunny Im so sorry. I kow how much you love my "Chuckie" duck and when I get his girlfriend in the Spring and she starts to lay I would love to send you a few eggs for a new magie mix drake??? take care hunny

I feel so bad for you and your lost babies Goat. i wish there was something i could say to make it feel better but i know im just the same way, i cry and freak when one of my babies is missing. i just wanted to die when i lost my scovy boy Blue in January.

I am glad though, that you didnt lose them all, it's amazing all the babies survived.

Very sorry to hear this. I worry every time I let my ducks out each morning, even though they only stay out as long as I am out there. I got my neighbors to tie up their dogs by waiting on my porch one morning with a gun(they used to run after her car each morning and then run into my yard and bite my puppies). She got the message but I think that might be a bit extreme for you. Hope you find the others.

I dont know how old you are, thinking either jr high or high school with you talking about parents and such...anyways i am just getting this picture of this cute high school girl standing on the neighbors front porch with a shot gun...then you hear her say...Keep your dogs out of my pen! I hear this being said like clint eastwood in gran torino "get off my lawn!" sorry it brought a smile to my face, and I thought id share...

I don't know what to say, except how sad this is. I feel so bad for you, and I wish everyone around you could understand how you feel. I know I would be devastated. I've not gone to work or events, for less disastrous things than this. My animals are my life and if ANYthing happens to them I am a wreck. I know it will take time, but be thankful and give extra loving to the ones you still have, and hopefully, you will get new ones who will bring you happiness too.

Makes me smile too!! What was it you were carrying last year that got the neighbors or the sheriff upset? A knife or something? Guess that wouldn't work with the dogs. Ya, doesn't go over with quite the same weight when you're underage.

Have you looked into hot wire? That allows more free range area, we use it.
