I have a flock of five 6 month old cockerels in an all-cockerel flock I am keeping to breed next year. Within that flock is a gorgeous cuckoo Araucana I hatched from another breeder's eggs. Unfortunately he is a bully to all the others, especially in the mornings. I removed him from the flock for almost a week hoping this would reset the pecking order. I put him back in the coop last night, and this morning he was actually MORE aggressive to the others than what he had been. He won't even let them come out of the coop.

When I removed him, I put him in a pen in the barn. As mentioned, he was gone from that flock a day shy of a week. Was a week not long enough? Would it help if I put him in a cage inside the coop with the other cockerels? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know some of you will ask, so their living arrangement is a 4' x 6' coop with several roosts, and their enclosed pen is 10' x 20'.
