Is this one of your goat eaters? I think you need to have a talk with this individual. They are moonlighting as something completely different!

So, from the tone of things on here, I think a newby can join in?! I've been a bit put off on a couple threads because I'm not into showing (yet) and all but a few of my current flock come from a hatchery (or are the offspring of hatchery birds). I appreciate the time and energy people put into developing a great line of birds, but most of all I appreciate anyone who "gets" what my husband calls "chicken crazy." I got my first chicks last Spring, and I'm hopelessly obsessed now! Anyone who doesn't have this "affliction" just doesn't seem to understand, so I'm hoping BYC can help me make some connections with people who do. This thread made me laugh out loud, and that's always a good thing!

So I hope you don't mind my "butting in."

I'm backing up a few pages...but If ya'll start doin yer own crossin and encubatin, and swapping and sellin, doesn't that make you a breeder? EEEEWWWWWWEEEE We got breeders right here on this thread!!. somebody call the association!

I dont think my poor girls even qualify as hatchery chicken there probably muts of muts. but I like em

You are fine! There are people uot there researching and breeding to keep these breeds alive and keep them to the SOP - and there people on here that have chickens simply to enjoythem and collect eggs - I think to each his own and thank goodness there are people who care to breed them to "perfection" But at the same point there is nothing wrong with having a few hatchery birds that you love and care for - nuff said!
