Another horrible hatch rate, 32%, but here's 11 gorgeous silkie chicks that hatched yesterday. I'm tickled. 2 NN's in there but the best news is, I got some buffs! :celebrate

There's a couple reds in there too, a black that's probably a cuckoo, and some white or light ones I'm not sure what they are yet.

There's one egg in the incubator I see a little bit of a flutter and a really messed up air cell, so we'll see if that one makes it. I might help it if it's not out in a few hours as the rest of them hatched over 18 hours ago.

Thank you. I'm so excited!

The one I thought was still alive apparently wasn't going to hatch as I candled it again and nothing. So I broke into it and it was dead. It hadn't even tried. Ah well, we know those that can't get themselves out sometimes wouldn't have made it too well down the road. It's still sad when they get that far though, but I'm fine with 11 others that are awesome and healthy. One's in splay leg bindings but it'll be fine in a day or three. :D I'm tickled pink with them!

I'm hoping that blue satin that came from your eggs Debbie can be bred to the black fuzzy girl. Not sure that it is a girl but almost. The black satin doesn't show any signs of being a roo or pullet yet. I'm hoping I have a male and female of the buffs I have hatched here from local eggs. They are not show quality and that is obvious compared to the ones that hatch from your eggs. Blue boy has so many feathers on his feet and legs I don't know how he carries them around with him. He does insist on roosting up well off the floor with two large breed pullets he grew up with until now. One is in a kennel healing after being roughed up by several hormonal boys. Now all those boys are in the grow out freezer camp pen except for Blue Boy. All the other Roos are Red Sex Link, Dark Cornish, White American Bresse, and a couple of RIR x White Giant crosses. We will not need to buy fryers for some time to come.

New picture of them a little less in a puddle.

I found 3 NN's in there. One got by me before. These all will be kept and grown out to see what we've got here. Any male NN's will get peddled and the girls, well, we'll see. I'm already keeping the little NN paint so do not want too many of those running around here. I have another one to try rehome now too.
