We recently moved the momma hen (Bambi) and her 30 or so 3-week-old chicks to the Four Seasons pen. I had the door open so the group on the left who live in there could come out, never imagining Bambi would venture out there with all those chicks, but sure enough, she did.
Getting them to go back in was a bit of a fiasco as they're so wild. I'm used to raising them, and they aren't so afraid of us then. I must say it's been nice having her take care of them though!
Someone's coming next Wednesday to buy 12, and the rest I'll just grow out over winter and sell in the spring. They can live in this pen all winter as they have a nice two-story hutch with a cozy coop radiant heater in it.
