They're getting their "life preservers" - that's what I call their "basket" or "boat" coupled with "angel wing feathers" above their wings. (Not to be confused with angel wing). Now none of these terms are proper, but if you have every seen a duckling develop, you might know what I am talking about. (I still refer to the "boat" on adults since they tend to sag around molt time and look like the duck is laying in a boat.) I also see some little flight feathers starting with the flappy-flap on the last pic. Them growing up is so exciting and sad at the same time...Pictures from outside time today. Cricket chased off Donald & Alfalfa. It's hilarious to watch!

Yeah, the just grow too fast. I can't believe they aren't even 4 weeks old yet & I'm already starting to see buff colored feathers on Bailey.
