December 18th hatch anyone?

I came home to seven chicks last night. Three RIR, two RIR/Australorp crosses and two Australorp mixes. I had one still in the shell that never made it all the way out. Three more eggs are left to hatch today. Hopefully at least two of them make it. I don't think the one egg is viable. I'll have to post pictures later. I put them in the brooder with my 5 day old chicks and the RIR chicks instantly ran up to the older chicks and started pecking at them.

Everyone was still getting along great this morning.

My chicks havent moved at all yet but temps where a bit lower so im guessing they wont come until the 19th or 20th.

I had to look twice at my lonely egg last night. I thought somehow a piece of shell got stuck to the outside of my egg, but then realized it was the begining of a pip. When I woke up this morning I saw that the pip was a little bigger. I may come home to a new chick!!! Good luck everyone!
