OK can we join the chick party??? I came back from shopping and checked... two chicks that I could see. A RR and maybe a dark orpington or wyandotte chick!!! So happy!!!

Hatch day for me too. 2 hatched this afternoon, 6 eggs to go. We've been under a winter storm warning. The power blipped off a couple times making me nervous.

Gosh - how exciting but I'm sorry about the weather! Our weather has gone from very rainy and wet and fairly cool to hot and humid. Apparently we may get thunderstorms tonight.
Hubby and I just went out to Ginny and she now has three chicks. We saw another egg had pipped and couldn't see the final egg. There is certainly a lot more action out there and Ginny seems to be very happy but she is still sticking to the nest box so I guess she is not giving up on the late-comers. I'm tempted to grab the broken shells and then I would know what has hatched so far.

That's a fab photo! I understood blue eggs were quite difficult to candle?

Beginners luck I think! New incubator, first time hatching eggs, and all 16 (of 21) that made it to lockdown, hatched. This forum has been a great resource! And it’s a good thing we have that big bag of chick starter,Wow! I'm trying not to be jealous!
