I put my eggs into lockdown one day early, but I did that with the last 3 hatches and they turned out fine. (day 17) Bluebelle eggers, Blue copper maran, LO, NN, and maybe bantam.

The tan ones may be a day behind. The blue ones already have a slope going.
I put them in the same room with my week old baby chicks so they could hear peeping going on...(don't worry the blanket doesn't touch the lamp. and the bulb is not a hot one.)

Candled my sticky mess of eggs from Greenfire Farms. Fortunately I only put those in that line of the incubator as their foam shipper's adhesive is now on my incubator. Still annoyed about that and hoping I can get it all out without too much trouble. :old

Their pita pintas were all clear. The others, including those with the glue, are developing fairly well for now. Hopefully the glue isn't something toxic that's going to harm the developing embryos. I regret setting them now as I have goo rolling around in my bator, but the eggs weren't cheap and too late for a do-over and at this point, I'm going to see how they do.

On a more positive note, the other eggs from two other places, all American Bresse, are developing well and I'm starting to get excited about adding this new breed!

More birdy fun for this week... I ordered 10 ducklings from Metzer for this week's hatch and received 11 beautiful healthy ducklings that are zipping around in a large box in my guest bedroom. I've never been so happy with shipped live birds. They even had little cups of goodies in there for them to eat. When I got them to the car and peeked in the box one actually jumped out and climbed up to my neck. Very healthy energetic birds.

I want to see if I get more eggs today, but I have one I want to add to my New years hatch.

This gray egg, and the same egg second left from top, just for contrast...(These particular eggs are not in incubator.)

Perfect storm because she doesn't lay much, I have not hatched one of hers yet, and I don't always have a rooster. She is an AC/california white mix.

Omg she looks so much like my speckles, I thought she was ac, but didn’t know the mix, here she is with her ac sister

last spring I hatched a barnyard mix of two dozen eggs from a local person here in Oregon who did have some ac. My ac and ac mix happened to be in them, I got lucky 😁🐓
