December 2022 hatch-a-long

The last egg has internally pipped, so maybe we’ll wake up to another fluffer! Hoping to sleep tonight… Every time I took the dog out last night (poor pup has the runs), I’d pop up to check the eggs lol

When mine were pipped I woke up every 3 hrs or so and peeked. Lol. Made for a long 2 days.

One of them had a curled foot, but it flattened out nicely overnight. Yay! They’re so precious and I’m struggling so bad with resisting cuddles lol

So cute!!! I took mine out after they were dry. I did it quick and it didn't harm any hatching. My broodys got off the nest quick after a pip and the babies were fine so I don't worry about it.

And that’s a wrap! Missed the last bean hatching my moments again lol. 5 toed blue/black just like the rest! The last three eggs looked identical and two have 5 toes and one only has 4 toes. The biggest egg was a slightly different colour too and has four toes with ever so slightly less feathering. Unsure what it could possibly be crossed with, if at all Hoping to do a mini photo shoot with them tomorrow before they get picked up. They need to be cuddled!!!!! Such fluffy lil bums and wee tufted heads for kissing

Can't wait to see them!!!! I did a couple photo shoots with the ones I hatched before they left.

I'm so disappointed- my 12.17 hatch out of three eggs I had one hatch normally and is doing great, one with a malpositioned pip that drowned, and the third hatched but didn't absorb the yolk at all? I'd never seen anything like this. I cut the dried yolk off yesterday and hoped for the best (there was no bleeding and the chick seemed fine), but today the chick is doing very poorly and I don't expect it to live through the night.

Oh that is sad. Maybe try giving it some yolk and nutridrench? Some electrolytes?
