DECEMBER Hatch-A-Long!😊

I’m a bit concerned about the last egg. The chick I guess actually piped this morning. It didn’t break through the membrane and its made no sound. The humidity dropped off last night so I was worried the little guy was being shrink wrapped. So I’ve added water to the incubator and this morning I poked a small hole in the membrane and I wiped it with some olive oil. This evening I chipped the shell enlarging the hole I’m going to leave it alone but this chick has been silent this whole time I’m not very hopeful.

Sounds like you are doing what you can. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Of my 12 scrambled shipped Deathlayers I have one single embryo! One early quitter but the rest, there was no hope. :( I had a singleton hatch a few months ago and he/she is the sweetest! So I am hoping this little one hangs on...then it will be a pampered chick. I have 5 Deathlayers that are about 3 weeks old it can join.

I was able to get a verification of damage from my USPS for my insurance claim for the scrambled state of my eggs. I’ll let y’all know if it is favorable!
