I've got 18 out now, 68 to go...it's going to be a long day, really wish I'd finished my Christmas shopping.

Good morning BYC. Status update: Still only two out, but just had my third external pip. That's number 3 out of sixteen, and we are 12 hours into day 19 here. Slight spike in humidity last night but got it all settled out before bed and holding up great on into this morning. Looking like it will be a pretty eventful day just like yesterday. Will stay up to date. Good luck and hoping for good hatches for my fellow HALers. Wow frilly and I thought 16 was a fair amount lol 68 to go, I'm already excited as it is. Not sure if I could stand it for 50 more times

I know, it's a bit crazy but that kinda how I do things! Go big or go home, right? I won't be keeping but about half of them, the rest of them will head to an egg farm. Then this Sunday I'll have another 49 go into lockdown and another 130 eggs will be delivered to start this all over again!

For those who don't have hydrometers, how do you regulate humidity during lockdown?

For those who don't have hydrometers, how do you regulate humidity during lockdown?

Keep your windows foggy around the edges of the glass. That should give you a nice even humidity throughout. If it starts to form droplets, you went just a hair to far and you won't need to add water for awhile. Hope this helps. It will climb slightly higher once your hatch begins, but should stay pretty even out as the hatch goes further along.

Mostly barnyard mixes, a couple Easter Eggers, 3 golden comets left, some mystery bantams, and a few White bearded Silkies. So really just hobby birds except for the ones I went to pick up.(EE, GC, and the mysteries). You?

Trying not to worry but none of the other eggs are pipped yet, just have the lone chick hatched who is sleeping a lot! This is day 21 it will be over at 8 PM. I did try to keep my heat in check this time, since I've had horrible hatches and heat spikes before. Maybe it was a bit to cool. Here's hoping!
