I have 2 more eggs in lock down due on the 20th then 13 more go in on Christmas Eve. I'm sure i'll have a Christmas chicks as I always have early birds. I'll be stopping after those till spring. I have 20 silkie, sizzle and frizzle chicks now. I think tending to them indoors a few months will be enough to deal with. Plus, i'll be going out of town and DH will have to tend to them while i'm gone for about a month. He also has the birds outside to tend to. What few hours of free time he has now will be used up.
My frizzle and sizzles are still laying everyday and I get a few silkie eggs too but I hate to waste them. I've been offering them up for $10 a dozen plus postage. It would be better if somebody was closer to me to just pick them up. Risking freezing in the mail is a bit risk right now. I have had some of these since the 11th so i'll have to toss those out. I don't like to keep any longer than 4 days if they are to be shipped and 7 if they are getting picked up. I'll be going to Portage Indiana in January but I don't have an exact date. I can bring some with me to be picked up there if anybody is interested. Just soot me a PM. That is provided they don't stop laying by then. What I have most right now are frizzle and sizzle eggs. They are white hens with recessive black and the roo is a black lavender splash roo. The chicks i've hatched out are black, black skin and 5 toes.
