Mine go int lockdown friday and I just hope I can provide the correct amount of moisture. I dont have a hygrometer so I have been advised to look for a bit of condensation on my viewing window? Is this good advice?

Well i did a nono nd opened the bator while on lock down (chicks were late) candled them and they were dead...Turns out my foste cats have turned the bator wrong while trying to get on top of the chicks cages and knocked all of the water out of the bator :(... I'm sooooo upset. I want millie fleurs soooo bad

Just stumbled onto your thread today. I hatched out a batch of 18 chicks in mid December in my Homemade Incubator. Had to move it inside to my office in order to maintain a steady temperature. The little ones are doing GREAT now. They are in the new brooder along with some chicks i had delivered that same week. Now i have MORE eggs in the incubator haha. I went by a local person house here in town to pick up 6, 2month old mived chicks that she didnt want and she gave me 22 eggs from her chickens. Some silkie eggs and the rest just brown egglaying mixed breeds. Just put the eggs in 2 days ago and looking forward to when they hatch! Good luck on your little ones.
