Oooh, fabulous! She is a lucky girl to have YOU to care for her! Unfortunately, I still don't have a feel for what antibiotics. I think it has to be broad spectrum. I am sure if you scour the forums you will find it. Rusty was also on anti-inflamatories. Metacam, I think and ibuprofen later. I don't think you can get Metacam without a prescription. Good luck! I hope she feels better soon.

She is doing much better now! This morning when we let them out, she still just went under the bush. When my daughter scooped out the coop from the night, she found the yolk that was expelled during the night. So that really was egg whites that I saw yesterday. I was completely overjoyed to walk out the back door after lunch and see ALL my chicken loves greet me at the gate! ALL of them! She is feeling much better and is happily eating the scratch I brought them. Her crop is full, so she has been eating her feed, too! She has now had her spa treatment (waited for the weather to warm, first) and has resumed her spot at the top of the pecking order.

Glad she is doing better. It sounds like she was trying to expel the yolk, this is very hard to do.
Hopefully her next egg will be just perfect and you won't have any further problems.
