So this is what im going to do, im going to build a pen, i studied other possibilities like a collar, cordectomy, and castration. Collar and cordectomy, only found vets that say that is unethical and couldn't find anyone willing to do it, so it is not an option, at least for me. Castration it's proven to be ineffective, i found an article of a veterinarian that did this on a peacock to see if it changed he's behaviour and it didn't work http://www.avianstudios.com/blog/bird-vasectomy-and-castration/ , so my only option: to build a closed pen, so nobody wakes up at night . I only have one male, no peahens, so the noise should not still be a problem .

I know with male lions if you castrate them they will lose their beautiful mane. I am wondering if the peacock will lose his train if he is castrated? I wouldn't want to test this myself that is sure...

I send my peacock to a friend that lives in the country, i will build a pen, and se how things works! I would like to see the video, thanks!

This whole de-crowing issue has been coming up a lot lately it seems, and I just want say something to people visiting the peafowl section who are thinking about getting peafowl but would have issues with the noise. Don't get peafowl if you or your neighbors can't handle the noise. Also, don't expand your collection too quickly if you have close neighbors. Get a feeling for how loud just a few birds can be. If you get a whole lot of adults all at once come breeding season your neighbors could be in for a shock.

I can't say enough that there are other beautiful birds out there that you can raise that are similar to peafowl in some of their behaviors such as fancy displaying for females. There are exotic bird keepers who avoid raising peafowl - I don't know exactly why - but they are far more interested in all kinds of other exotic birds. I guess they see peafowl as too common or too big.
