I brush it through about every 2 to 3 weeks. If I had more chickens I might have to do it weekly. Easy job--about 5 minutes. I don't use anything on the droppings--no smell and no flies.

Thank you @imnukensc I'm impressed, I got all sad that my idea was a silly idea but I really think it could work and if it really doesn't work for me I can always install poop boards insteadI brush it through about every 2 to 3 weeks. So they just sit under the coop?I brush it through about every 2 to 3 weeks. If I had more chickens I might have to do it weekly. Easy job--about 5 minutes. I don't use anything on the droppings--no smell and no flies.
...and that doesn't get stinky and fly ridden?Yup!
That was my worry, I'll be using mine for compost but thought I would probably put something over it as required (grass clippings / leaves etc) then move to the compost bin periodically....and that doesn't get stinky and fly ridden?
Yep mine is the same where I'm thinking of doing it - open and not in the run.Yup! I've raked it out once into the yard. If I kept a garden or had a green thumb I'd use it on a compost pile. Probably also important to know that the area under the coop is totally open and not part of the attached run.
