DEEP Hole in chicken****PIC****pls HELP

It has been a few days...how are your two chickens that have the wounds? Did you find out what or who was causing the injuries? I hope they are better.

Have had deep wounds on my birds that have responded well to TEA TREE OIL. It is a natural antiseptic. You can find at a pharmacy OR, better yet , if you know someone who sells Melaluca tea tree oil, it is the very best. Just a couple of drops in the wound. It will burn a bit when first applied but it should help. Good luck!

I'm sorry about those two.

To stop future pecking try installing one of those party lights with a red bulb. You can buy them almost anywhere. Your chicks are probably too old for a heat lamp, but if they have a red light they will not be able to see the blood on the other chicks and will not peck each other.
