Deep litter method question

i have a flock of 9 chickens. I'm going to try and do the deep litter method. That question I have is, when do you add the Food grade DE? Once a week? Everyday? Also, do you add the DE just where the poo is at are sprinkle it all over and stirr it up? Thank you in advance...

I have never used DE in my deep litter, so I can't answer that for you.

Don't use DE with Deep Litter Method, the DE will kill the microorganisms necessary to break it down to compost
